Why Cricket 07 browser offers two editions
EA Sports Cricket 07 originally shipped on a DVD-ROM where studio commentary, crowd audio banks, and broadcast videos accounted for more than half of the disc footprint. When you press Play on cricket-07.org, the edition chooser lets you pick between full broadcast presentation and a lighter download.
Regular Edition (Suggested — 740 MB startup)
- Startup download: ~740.3 MB compressed (~848.0 MB unpacked in OPFS).
- Audio & presentation: Includes complete Richie Benaud and Mark Nicholas ball-by-ball commentary, full stadium atmosphere, and all menu music tracks.
- Background videos: Streams 25
.vp6intro and broadcast video sequences (~320.8 MB) in the background after the game starts.
Lite Edition (Fast Start — 438 MB startup)
- Startup download: ~437.6 MB compressed (~514.8 MB unpacked in OPFS).
- Audio & presentation: Omits match commentary archives and trims menu music to a single track while preserving essential bat-on-ball and crowd sound effects.
- Full gameplay parity: Every team, stadium, Test series, ODI tournament, and Ashes scenario in Cricket 07 is 100% playable in Lite Edition.
Upgrading from Lite to Regular later
The Cricket 07 browser installer checks each unpacked file in /opfs/c07game against its exact byte size. If you play Lite Edition first and later choose Regular Edition in the Play modal, the loader reuses your existing core game files and only downloads the missing commentary and audio packs.
